Oxbow Autumn & Teton National Park  Shooting Location
from Oxbow Autumn

Teton National Park
Spectacular, rugged, beautiful all describe the Teton Mountains of Western Wyoming. These great mountains have become icons of American mountains. Featured in motion pictures and popular among mountain climbers around the world, Grand Teton Peak dominates the sky line between the town of Jackson Hole and the Yellowstone National Park.

Autumn graces the days with vivid colors of transition, rich blue skies and abundant animal herd during the elk rut.  My Oxbow Autumn photograph captures the richness of gold cottonwood trees at Oxbow Bend along the Snake River below Teton Lake.

Together, Grand Teton and Yellowstone provide a continuous wild ecosystem. This area provides critical habitat for Wolves, Elk, and other wild ranging mammals.

The Snake River originates on the eastern slopes of the Teton Range creating a stunningly beautiful tree lined meander with the Teton's rising above. This clear stream becomes a large river that flows south and west through southern Idaho to join the Columbia River.

With Yellowstone National Park adjacent to Grand Teton, visitors can quite easily enjoy both areas on the same trip. The Yellowstone River appears in the National Parks Screen Saver.
